I have certainly worked my ass off to make the new Eagleworld as good as I could, so I hope everyone enjoys the server! Please read the entirety of this post, as it'll be important on how to get started on the new Eagleworld. If you don't and you start asking questions, you'll just be referred right back here:
What's the new Eagleworld look like?
You might be wondering what exactly what has changed from the old Eagleworld to the new. Well, here's all the changes in a nutshell:

Changes to the map:
The new Eagleworld will reside on a freshly generated map from the full release.
The old map is still reachable, but the new world should be used for new structures.
Users will be allowed to retrieve item stores from their chests for a period of time. Chests are still protected on the old map.
The old map will eventually be locked down and will become a museum for everyone's prior achievements.
Users will be allowed to elect one structure from the old world to be transported to the new. Admins will assist with this as time allows.
Unfortunately, the new map does not have the increased height as desired. There is no stable way to do this currently, but I will definitely implement it once I am able to do so.
Changes to server economy:
All previous balances everyone had have persisted. No money was lost!
Player salaries are the same as before. You'll still get a monthly stipend!
In addition to Talons (the main server currency), there is a new minor currency called the Feather.
100 Feathers = 1 Talon. It's the same as dollars to cents.
The global shop is back, and it is global again, so you can access it from anywhere on Eagleworld!
The global shop will now allow you to buy and sell 1 of any item...no more bundle restrictions!
Player shops are NOT yet available. This will be handled shortly after the server is re-established.
Major changes to rules
Players are now expected to do the majority of their building inside towns.
The wilderness should be primarily used for resource gathering (mining, harvesting, etc.)
The wilderness will periodically be deleted and allowed to regenerate to renew map resources.
Wilderness settlements are permitted, but structures outside of a town should be located in one place.
Random wilderness structures will be purged as the map is reset.
The new towns of Eagleworld
Since wilderness building is heavily discouraged at this point, it behooves all members of Eagleworld to join a town. Here is a synopsis of your options (and other potential options):

Approved Towns
The following three towns are currently approved and will be founded as soon as possible. You may join any of these towns immediately.
Location: Around spawn point, with multiple biomes based on district
Theme: Large metropolis with multiple districts for the central governing land, player shops, artistic creations, hilly homesteads, small, close-knit village-style homes, industrial buildings/farmland, and a large downtown district for larger residences.
How it will be run: The Capitol will comply to the Townymod plot system to allow users to protect their property as they see fit. No taxes will be applied to the citizens. All plots for citizens will be free but require approval by the Mayor. Every member of Eagleworld will get one free store in the Capitol Mall. Plots and/or additional stores for non-citizens will be given out on a per-user basis and charge.
Theme: Five districts in total, each with a distinct theme, all built over the ocean
How it will be run: Runninghobo, SanctusTerra, and EG_SpaceNinja will each be in charge of a district. No additional details yet, other than each assistant will be in charge of the theme of their district.
Ironforge
Mayor: Karaktar
Citizens: ljdarten, Archer665
Location: Mountain biome, plus flat land for residential plots
Theme: Dwarven mountain town, with grandiose entranceway
How it will be run: The town will feature a large entranceway cut into a mountain, including multiple town buildings inside the mountain, the main pathway will open up into a flat area where users can build their structures, all surrounded by mountain ranges and a large wall for protection.
Towns Awaiting Approval
The following towns were applied for by their respective mayors. They are not yet approved, but if you pledge to join a certain town, it will strengthen that town's application. Most applications here will be approved if they get at least 2 pledging citizens besides their mayor.
Awkward Silence
Mayor: Openminded
Pledging Citizens: None
Location: Any biome will work
Theme: A horror film town based on modern times
How it will be run: Plots will be given out free to citizens. The plots will conform to the Townymod plot system.
Xenturz
Mayor: XmetroidfanX
Pledging Citizens: None
Location: Medium-sized flat land
Theme: Upgrading
How it will be run: The town and its structures will start out with cheap materials (e.g. dirt) and will slowly be upgraded over time as enough resources of the next quality materials are obtained. Members will be given jobs, such as mining, farming, etc.
Blaze
Mayor: ZackBlaze164
Pledging Citizens: None
Location: Large Forest or Plains biome
Theme: Roman Empire
How it will be run: The town will basically be run like the Roman Empire.
What you need to know when you first log in
Since a lot has changed on Eagleworld, there will be some things you need to know the first time you log in. Here's a quick checklist of things you should do:
Browse the Server Info page and familiarize yourself with the new rules/policies
Browse the list of towns above and figure out which one you wish to join (if you have not yet done so)
You may wish to look at the more detailed town applications in this blog post.
When you log in the first time, you need to request your rank to be restored. This is for security purposes.
Upon first login, also ask for your back salary.
Once you have a house and chests, start transferring your items from the old map to the new one.
Select a structure from the old world to bring to the new one. Electing to not bring one will give you a bonus in Talons.
What's the new features I should look out for?
Now that we have all these new fancy-schmancy plugins and stuffs, what does that mean for you? I haven't had time to update the Help Page yet, but here's some info to get you started:

New Basic Commands
Thanks to the latest version of Essentials, there's a whole bunch of new commands at our disposal. Here are just a few to get you started:
/world is no longer used. To get to the other worlds, use /warp instead (e.g. /warp nether and /warp theend).
Some old map warps are still available. All warps that start with "zz-" are on the old map.
You can now set multiple homes! for your basic home use /sethome and /home as usual. For additional ones, add a name to the end of it (e.g. "/sethome mine" and "/home mine")
You will go afk by default now after 5 minutes of inactivity. This protects you from mobs, prevents being moved, and prevents picking up items. Type /afk to toggle it on or off.
For additional commands, make sure to type /help and /help 2, /help 3, etc. for a full list of what you have access to.
New Dynmap Features
The dynmap can now show all worlds, including the old and new eagleworld maps
As before, positions of players are shown on the map in realtime
Map and player lists are shown by hovering the mouse on the right side of the page
Towny information is now displayed, such as town borders and the like
Server warps are now displayed on the map as well
Any of these options can be enabled/disabled on the dynmap with the button of the left (above location)
Other commands to know
Don't forget to use /motd and /rules for basic server info
/money still shows the basic iConomy stuff.
/money top doesn't work anymore. Use "/towny top money" instead.
The global shop uses /shop. Type just /shop for a list of options. The ones you will want to use the most are "/shop buy <item> <amount>" and "/shop sell <item> <amount>" (you can use "all" as an amount when selling stuff, too!)
Use /dynmap hide to hide yourself from the dynmap. Use /dynmap show to bring yourself back. Mods can override this if necessary.
Conclusion
I hope the new Eagleworld is more enjoyable for all! Please let me know if there are any issues with the server; I will resolve them as soon as my personal time allows. As far as building migration, please be patient. We will get to them as soon as possible. Note we will be doing a lot of work rebuilding towns and the infrastructure, as well as handling server bugs, so we have to deal with building migration after all that is fixed. Hey just so everyone is aware I am away for a few days I made archer assistant for now and when I get back I will begin work on the town till then archer can invite and set plots I sent him instructions via in game mail hope He gets them (hint hint)
Works a little crazy right now but should normalize sometime after the new year.
Btw great job on the server pete its hard work I know now and I cant wait too what amazimg feats everyone will accomplish.in the new year
