Server Downtime - June 5th 2013 - Operating System Upgrade

All,

Please note that the server was down for about 2 hours between 4:00PM EDT and 6:00PM EDT in order to upgrade Debian Linux from 6.0 ("Squeeze") to 7.0 ("Wheezy"). The majority of the downtime was taken up by rebooting the system, which required an extensive filesystem check due to the extended uptime of the system. Before the reboot, the server was running for over 220 days, which triggered Delorean for filesystem scans of all of the hard drives. The system upgrade is now complete and all services on the system appear stable. Please let me know of any issue that you come across. Thanks!

no sandy pushed inland until it hit the server and then a massive battle of wills occurred and the server won and sandy faded away.

Somebody jinxed it, it went down for maintenance as normal this morning, and didn't come back up again.

Yep. Before Hurricane Sandy I had over 700 days uptime. The server is quite stable.

Nephy, the Minecraft server was down, but the Linux server wasn't. Minecraft is extremely difficult to keep up 24/7...that's why I reboot it nightly. But I fixed the wait time on my scripts to give it enough time to reboot. I'm still tweaking the new server...
