Master 1.5 Survival Server TODO List

IF YOU ARE READING THIS THE FIRST TIME: To those of you who wish to help me with setting up the server, this is the big giant list of testing and configuration I have to do before the server will be ready for gameplay.

Please note that the server is located at delorean.eagleworld.net:25566. If you want to get whitelisted to help out, add a post here. Thanks!

NOTE TO TESTERS: I have provided links to pertinent websites/wikis/command references for every plugin. Click the name of the plugin for the site! I've also color coded stuff to make it easy to figure out the status:
  • RED: Waiting on me. Nothing you guys can do yet.
  • ORANGE: Partially waiting on me, but there's still some stuff you can test.
  • YELLOW: Waiting on the staff. Usually testing or confirmation of bugs.
  • GREEN: Tested and ready to go!

Ensure the different ranks are not able to get to the maps they are not supposed to...check for exploits and workarounds:
  • Guest: Access Aquilia and Vitalia (but without build rights), no access to Infernia or Finia
  • Initiate: Build rights on Vitalia, Access (without build) rights on Aquilia, no access to Infernia or Finia
  • Apprentice: Build rights on Vitalia and Aquilia, no access to Infernia or Finia
  • Builder: Build rights on Vitalia, Aquilia, and Infernia, no access to Finia
  • Architect and above: Build rights on all worlds

BOSEconomy:
  • Need to ensure the different ranks get the attributed salaries - Tested OK by EagleRock
  • Admins need to be able to change a user's salary bracket as needed - Tested OK by Openminded
    • /econ bracket addmember <bracket> <member>
    • /econ bracket removemember <bracket> <member>
    • /econ bracket setmultiplier <bracket> <member> <multiplier> (This is for donors who get a 2x money multiplier as opposed to the default 1x)
    • NOTE: use "/econ bracket list" for the bracket names
  • Donators need to get the salary boost based on their rank - Tested OK by EagleRock - only whole number multipliers
  • Need to ensure all plugins (e.g. ChestShops) work with this economy plugin as expected - Tested OK - ChestShop is able to interface with BOSEconomy successfully!

mcMMO:
  • Testing of all skills and abilities of every skill tree (check that they work, and that there is no overpowered skills nor exploits
    • Acrobatics - Tested OK by Karaktar (/heal is on a 60 second cooldown for non-staff members)
    • Archery - Tested OK by Openminded and Melany23
    • Axes (especially check Greater Impact, if it should be nerfed) - Tested OK by Openminded
    • Excavation - Tested OK by Openminded
    • Fishing - Tested OK by Melany23, including Shake (not OP)
    • Mining - Tested OK by Karaktar and Openminded
    • Repair - Tested OK by EagleRock
    • Smelting -Tested OK by Openminded

CoreProtect
  • Ensure logging is enabled in Aquilia and Vitalia - Tested OK by EagleRock

LWC (Lightweight Chest Protection):

Anti X-Ray
  • Ensure that Mods and Admins see mining speed limit notifications - Tested OK by EagleRock, Melany23, and pfleegore
  • Ensure that all but Admins are under speed limit controls - Tested OK by EagleRock
  • Test to see how easy it is to hit the speed limit while mining normally - Tested OK by pfleegore
  • Test to see how easy it is to hit the speed limit while cheating with an x-ray mod - Tested OK by Openminded
  • Determine whether or not this can supercede Orebfuscator - Tested OK by EagleRock

NoCheatPlus
  • Extensively test cheats to see which restrictions are bypassed - Done
  • Check to see if particular Essentials skills/abilities need to be given exceptions to avoid false positives - Done
  • Check all mcMMO abilities to see which ones do not work with NoCheatPlus - Tested OK by Karaktar and EagleRock - Test the active abilities in this list
  • Ensure /fly and /speed work properly with NCP - Tested OK by EagleRock and Nephylim - proper exemptions given to applicable ranks
  • Test new dev build of NoCheatPlus to see if additional cheats are blocked - Tested by EagleRock and ZackBlaze164...nope.

Clearlagg
  • Need to check that it works with TNT explosions - Tested OK by EagleRock - Server is lag-free with 1,000 TNT detonating, and can survive over 600,000 TNT exploding with no entities afterwards
  • Check if Ocelots are immune to mob removal - Tested OK by EagleRock - Required config tweak
  • Need to ensure Admins have proper permissions - Tested OK by EagleRock - Admins now have full permissions except /lagg gc, which can crash the server
  • Need to check if mod permissions are apropos or if they should be added - Tested OK by EagleRock - Added same permissions to Mods as Admins
  • Need to ensure that the item "grouper" works and doesn't destroy crap - Tested OK by EagleRock
  • Overall stress testing - Tested OK by EagleRock - Server is able to clean up after over 2,500 mobs spawned

Worldborder
  • Need to test that worldborders are working as expected and safe from exploits - Tested OK by Nephylim
  • Need to test default user permissions to see border listings (default and above) - Tested OK by Karaktar
  • Need to test admin permissions to bypass the world border - Tested OK by Openminded
  • Need to consider if mods should be able to bypass the world border - Tested by Nephylim - Mod access is unnecessary

WorldEdit
  • Check that Admins can do the fun WorldEdit stuff they need to - Tested OK by EagleRock
  • Make sure WorldEdit commands are ADMIN ONLY. - Tested OK by EagleRock
  • Check for major bugs/problems. - Tested OK by Openminded
  • See if there are other considerations for WorldEdit use - Tested OK by Openminded - WorldEdit is good to go!

WorldGuard
  • NOTE: Protection permissions configured, and EssentialsProtect has been disabled.
  • Need to ensure destructive items (TNT, Lava, Lava Buckets, Flint and Steel) cannot be used by ranks below Artisan - Tested OK by EagleRock
    [*}Need to test notifications for use of the above items, as well as breaking of Obsidian, Ores, and Blocks of Ores (e.g. Diamond, etc.) - Tested OK by EagleRock
  • Need to ensure that monsters cannot damage all worlds, including item frames and pictures - Tested OK by EagleRock

  • Potential alternative to NTheEndAgain

Orebfuscator
  • No custom config was made yet, and admins are the only ones that can control it.
  • Need to ensure the server load is not too heavy and the lag isn't too great.
  • Need to ensure the plugin isn't causing memory issues.
  • Extensive anti-xray testing required. - Tested OK by Nephylim
  • ON HOLD - I am now testing Anti X-Ray as a computationally cheaper alternative

EssentialsXMPP
  • Installed, but not configured (not working)
  • Required for inter-server chat and integration with IRC
  • NOT TO BE INSTALLED - I do not believe this plugin does what I think it does...

    Bug Statuses:
    • OK - Not a bug, or the behavior is fine.
    • FIXED - Bug has been fixed and the fix is confirmed.

Reqires further testing to ensure all ranks are getting the permissions they are supposed to.

Excavation (especially ensure treasure hunting is not too powerful) - few items dropped at level 3000. those that did dropped were dust and minor. also a few of the ores I did auto smelted, a pleasant but not powerful gift, in 4 uses I saved less than one coal in smelting.

EDIT :

GREATER IMPACT - unless you are facing more than 4 mobs it is under control. I will need admin rights to test higher levels. at reasonable levels, the buff is as expected.
Unarmed works like having the drill with a shovel, the dirt bricks broke instantly and I was able to destroy 18 dirt blocks before it wore off.

Pete, I sent you my list of things I found. I did however remember some more things I forgot to add.

- Can destroy and place blocks while in AFK mode
- Cannot use /enchant as a Mod (Most likely an Admin privilege now)
- Can't use /jail (No jails set yet)
- /kill doesn't kill a user in Godmode.
- Can still use /helpop while muted
- Can still use /broadcast while muted
- Setting speed with /speed to 0 makes a player immobile
- Unable to warp to anywhere outside of vitalia while inside of vitalia
- Unable to use /home in Vitalia
- Wasn't able to warp to The Nether or The End
- (more if they appear)

Taming (is Call of the Wild overpowered?) No, I don't think so, the ocelot/wolf it spawns has 8hp instead of the 20hp a naturally tamed critter has, and you have to go out of your way to spawn more than one. Tested that HP is 8/8 at lvl 1 and at lvl 99. I only had the patience to spawn three of each since I had some problems with getting them to spawn. Also, I was reading that things spawned with call of the wild will occasionally despawn when your critters are left in a chunk that unloads, i have not confirmed this yet .Tamed animals do not always follow when teleporting with /home or /mvtp, but will resume following if you get near where you tp'd from and will often teleport to you when you relog. Dogs sometimes get caught staring at something invisible and the only way I have found to make them follow again is for me to attack something or relog.

Creeper explosions cause item frames and their contents to be dropped (as is usually the case)

In my opinion everyone should be able to /inspect, it doesn't seem to give any advantage, and its great for those who are curious.

The following client hacks worked at rank artisan:
Spider, Walk on Water, Sprint, NoFall, HighJump, Autowalk, Autofish, Cavefinder,Chestfinder, ESP, Wallhack, waypoints, xray, nuker, aimbot

Still working out what some of the commands do but thats a pretty good start I think.

Wait period between teleports works

Tppos outside of protected border causes lag and could potentially crash the server.

The warp to the end is missing for players who cannot /mvtp

Need confirmation on this. Need steps to reproduce and someone else to confirm this bug.

This is by design. Do enchantments the real way and don't cheat.

Acknowledged, but I don't think it is a bug. We'll have to test jails. Added to the list.

- /kill doesn't kill a user in Godmode.

Acknowledged, requires confirmation. If it is in fact a bug, it's not a huge deal, as only a small amount of the population has god mode. However, I remember being able to successfully use /kill on people with god mode enabled.

- Can still use /helpop while muted

This is fine and by design. The helpop channel is only seen by mods and admins, so if a muted user wishes to ask a question, it's okay. In the case of them exploiting it to spam us, a kick or a tempban is in order.

- Can still use /broadcast while muted

This is fine and by design. Only mods and admins have access to /broadcast, so if one of them gets muted, then there's bigger problems afoot.

- Setting speed with /speed to 0 makes a player immobile

This is expected behavior.

- Unable to warp to anywhere outside of vitalia while inside of vitalia
- Unable to use /home in Vitalia
- Wasn't able to warp to The Nether or The End

These were fixed this morning by config changes. Please retest.

hey ok so i did some testing last night

the woodcutter ability works as expected and thou i have not gotten to the highest lvl i can say with 99% certainty that it is not over powered at the highest lvl imo one could only do maybe 6 or 7 trees if they were in a row before it times out and you have to wait 5 min it might be worth raising the cool down to 10 which would make it a one use per minecraft day thing which seems reasonable to me

acrobat so far seems to work as expected thou it will be necessary to nerf the heal cmd either by adding a 30 sec cool down or limiting it distribution although the benifits of the rolling arnt extreme even at high lvls

also the more cmd i assume only top lvl ppl will have access and while its useful right now when we go live i recconmend just having admins have it as it could be very tempting ( i also assume you are aware of it but just incase)

I'll also need to reconsider the heal bypass for Moderators. Either that, or reconsider my Moderators...

3. The /more Command

I honestly was not aware that I had given that to mods at all. I've since removed it, as it is way too overpowered like you said. Thanks!

All,

I have installed quite a few plugins and have addressed all issues that were given to me so far in the thread. The main post has been updated to include all of your feedback and what needs to be tested.

The post is much, much larger now. Follow the guides and the colors to figure it out. Basically, green means ok, red means I need to do something, yellow means you can help!

Not all of those were bugs rather than just little notes I made compared to the last set up of Eagleworld we had. Just put them there in case they were in fact a bug in some way. no big deal though
